Riccardo Buscarini

Choreographer winner of numerous awards in Italy and abroad, Riccardo Buscarini is an artist who focuses on the constant change in his creative approach to choreography and its possible interactions with other art forms. Highlights of his career so far include winning The Place Prize 2013 with “Athletes”, participating in international research projects ArtsCross London 2013 (UK, Taiwan and China), Performing Gender (Italy, Croatia, Spain, Netherlands) and MAM-Maroc Artist Meeting (Marrakech).

His work in the field of artivisive includes an exhibition commissioned by Summerhall (Edinburgh), an installation part of the Lon- don Festival of Architecture 2016 and a collaboration with Nahmad Projects gallery (London) presented during the exhibition “i’m NOT tino sehgal” curated by Francesco Bonami and during miart – modern and contemporary art fair in Milan 2017. “Silk”, his creation for the Chelyabinsk Contemporary Dance Theatre (Russia) has been nominated as Best Production and Buscarini as Best Choreographer of the 2016/17 season at Golden Mask Festival, Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow. In the last two years he approached opera direction directing Don Pasquale, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Madama Butterfly in collaboration with Giuseppina Campolonghi for Associazione Amici della Lirica Piacenza. Riccardo will be choreographer/assistant of MÂș Italo Nunziata in the new production of “La forza del destino” at the Municipal Theatre of Piacenza in January.
